Mano's BLOG (entry one)
So here is the first entry of my 'Breathe' Dairies.
I often wonder what life's path has in store for us all. I Know one
thing though, and my best friend Dan's grandfather Paul put it beautifully.
I guess at 85 years odd he had had some life experience, to be able
to put it so, he said: That the one thing that he remembered about his
life, was the friends he surrounded himself with. The experiences he
had with people, even if it was just a moment that he shared, on a subway
train, with a beautiful woman.
So I guess that's how this journey started. Me and two of my best friends,
two of my favourite people in the world going on a journey together,
and taking along some amazing people to share the moments with us.
Now I ask you how anything can be more right.
And on top of that; the Universe has been amazing and provided us with
some of the most amazing support from some of the most amazing people
we have come across.
It's just amazing how much support we have got from the Diving community!
I could mention them all but that would just take too damn long!
I must say though the team at Divetek
SA are amazing. BJ, Chris, Andre, Jen, Nat and the absolutely gorgeous
and ever most loveable Meg.
Now these are people who almost everybody in the Dive community know
or have heard of. They are all the Salt of the Earth. It just takes
me back to what Paul said about surrounding yourself with beautiful
people.
So now we have amazing people's support, and we have a team coming on
the journey, that is made up of more people who are the Salt of the
Earth. There's Gordon our DOP one of the best Underwater Photographers
in the country, and watch out Ladies he is quite the charmer! Then we
have (just going to change the CD I'm listening to)… Aah Diana Krall,
absolutely beautiful an unbelievably soothing voice and damn Elvis Costello
for being married to her. Anyway I digress… Where was I… yes… Then we
have The Hammer! Man this man is a bit of Enigma when it comes to certain
things, a bit of a dark horse in a good sense, but now I can't mention
what it is that he is a bit of an Enigma over. On the other hand though,
here is a man who came into our lives completely from nowhere. We were
at an FHM Go Kart race and we were put on this team with these young
funky guys. One of them was The Hammer-then introduced to us as Rohan.
Damn could this guy drive a cart. I think we won the night cause of
him. Anyway somehow we ended up in his car taking us back to our cars.
We all got talking, and the subject of Diving came up and next thing
you know we only meet up like two months later at my house the night
before leaving on a Diving trip to Ponto, and that's where he got his
name The Hammer. I'm not gonna explain how he got the name, I always
get the story wrong, I'll get him to explain it to me and I'll tell
it next time.
Right so the rest of the team? Jack Devnarain well need I say anything
more. He is a true officer and a Gentleman. Then there's the guy who
you can take out of Springs, but you certainly can't take Springs out
of him, Brandon Auret. We've been working together now for about 7 years.
We started off as 'The Doowah Boys' and then moved onto 'Isidingo',
he got there a year before me. Then there's one of my soul mates, Dan
Gelber, aka Uncle Flip Flop. One of the most amazing souls I have known,
in my short existence on this Earth. One of the wisest and least judgmental
people I have ever met. I can go on forever about him and about the
rest of the guys too. But I guess you will get to know them as I log
our journey, and trust me never will there ever, be a dull moment!
So this is just an intro to our little journey, however significant
it may be. But to us it's an experience and hopefully we can take you
with us and keep you entertained through it.
I think we will. We are just a group of people who are up for a little
fun.
And let me tell you I couldn't think of anyone better, than the people
I've just mentioned, to share this journey and experience with.
Till next time.
Love, Light and Peace to all. X
